Cluster Question?

I just picked up a 79 cluster and was wondering if it will fit into my 82. The speedo go's upto 120 and has a ditgital clock on it. My 82 only go's to 85 and has no clock. The clock isn't a big deel it just looks cool to me, but 120 looks much better than 85 to anyone.

It should physically fit OK - the dashes are all the same, but the wiring will be a challenge. Get yourself the wiring diagrams for both model years. I know Kevin Wright has these posted online as PDF files, but I don't have the address....anyone? Didn't the 83 come with the 120mph guage cluster? That would make a more logical swap, since you keep all the extra guages of the series 2 RX7...

'83 came with a 130mph speedo. Will it be calibrated correctly just by switching out the guage pod?

You can not swap the complete instrument cluster without major modifications. If you want the 120mph speedometer, all you have to do is switch the speedo mechanism into your cluster...
