Cleaning my SE Trans - A few questions
I bought a used SE trans to replace my noisy 83 one and Ive got a few questions. In the middle, on the upper side there is a little removeable metal cap. Is this a breather for the trans? I noticed my rear end has a similar thing. Why do they need it? I noticed there are two ports in the bell housing that aren't on my 83 trans. What is the purpose of these? Also there are two sensors (one on each side) in the middle of the trans. What do these go to? Thanks guys.

the vent is so pressure doesnt' build up in the trans/ same with the diff.
One sensor goes to "something" it's been to long for me to remember that tells the -SE's computer that the trans is if 5th gear. The other sensor, reverse?
the ports from my reading were to give the clutch dust an escape route and to help with cooling.

I just hooked up the lights to a little switch that I mounted in the coin tray.
Reason being I swapped an auto over to 5spd, and didnt feel like trying to find a manual harness just to adapt the tranny reverse lights.
