Choking RX

My car is choking, gasping, sputtering over 3500 RPM or so when I give
it anymore then like 1/3 throttle. I can let off the throttle and it will continue to climb to about 5000 RPM until it wants more throttle but I try and it chokes again...I bought the car about a month ago now and the previous owner put a brand new gas tank, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor, etc. It did this when I bought the car and so I knew I would have to deal with it eventually. Then the day after I bought the car it quit doing the gasping thing and ran fine for the last several weeks...now its choking yet again.

I plan to tool around with AFM, intake, Bypass Valve, TPS, etc hoping to find something...should I look anywhere else?

Thanks in advance for any insight,

Bump

Could this be as simple as my fuel filter? I'll have a new one in by the time you all reply
