Check out this fuel Cell

It's on a BMW, but I think it would fit perfect in our cars.

http://www.e30m3performance.com/inst...ell/cell_1.htm

Plus two of these fuel pumps into a Y, and a fuel pump booster.

www.msdignition.com/fuel_7.htm

I think this is the way I'm going. Any objections?

Luis

Is it necessary?

Wouldn't be convienant to lift the hatch to fill the tank. There's usually fuel vapor in the racecars that do that.

I'd also definately absolutely put sheet metal over that fuel cell. If it pops in an accident, we don't want fuel spraying on you. Plus there's fire hazard.

Bitchin' car by the way. I always enjoy looking at that widebody and chrome mesh rims.

lol....trading fuel capacity to "just have a fuel cell" for a street car isn't my cup of tea, either...that, and I plan on using that spot to house two CD changers and the controller...

And even for a FB it's only a loss of ~2 gallons. I've been looking at getting that same cell, just been doing other more needed projects to the ol' girl. I think the only issue 1st gens would have is that lump in the well, of course not to difficult to get ride of it you have a welder and some flat steel around.

Okay, a fuel cell in the car like that is not safe IMO being that there is no firewall between you and your gas. The catch, it takes a hell of a lot to break a fuel cell. It's about 1/2" thick durable rubber stuff that can be dragged 2 miles at 150mph before wearing through (designed for super speedways w/ nascar, IIRC). The fuel cell breaking would be the least of my worries, but fueling a car while in the same compartment that you drive in, thats a whole new level of stupidity that I won't even get into. There is a reason that racing organizations require a firewall between the drivers compartment and the fuel cell or tank.

You definitely would want to put an enclosure around that. If you're looking for extra fuel capacity, make an enclosure and plumb in the stock filler neck. You can gain an extra gallon or so, and retain the stock fueling location, which would cut down on fumes at the gas station. You might also want to take a holesaw to your Euro plate bezel to help exhaust the fumes, unless it's a racecar in which case doing so is probably illegal.

With an internal-fill cell, you want to take extra care not to spill any fuel. I've had the extreme displeasure of driving an RX7 in an enduro with an internal fill cell, and I thought I was going to die after 15 minutes in the car. Not pleasant, my friends.

Nope, I installed a Gsl-se tank again, and bought a new Fuel Pump.

My car is Undergoing an Exterme Makeover at the moment from Rebuild(No it's not Blown!!) to polishshing the entire engine bay and turbo. I want to have everything ready for when my Microtech is released.

The TB will be blue and the manifold and elbow Polished.
