cheaper alternative to stock oil cooler lines.....

Hey.... i just pulled the motor out of my gsl-se parts car... i was planning on keeping the oil cooler lines because im putting the oil cooler into my 81.... anyhow... i was unable to get the lines off when pulling the motor... the lines were frayed and not in that good of shape so i cut them... will i be able to use any kind of rubber hose and clamp it until i can get a nice braided steel line set from summit?....

If you use any rubber hose and clamps you have will all most certainly blow the hoses off and be a loser.
Any rubber hose is unlikely to be compatible with hot engine oil.
Also a hose clamp isn't designed to withstand 60+psi.

Its not worth losing an engine.

my thoughts exactly. i almost made the same mistake (osh for the water lines on behind the toilet) even that one made me laugh to my self just now. anyways dont do it! i still tried to get one found a line at a place that has parts from airplanes fond a line that would freaking break glass 3000psi and the inside diameter was a lil smaller gave me a nice "Airplane Sound" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa. ......go to the yard and pull some or wait and save $$$$

if you ever need oil cooler hoses done, bring your stock ones to hoseman in irwindale and they will replace the lines. appx $60 for a set. no need to buy expensive AN fittings.
