I beat the **** out of my car all the time... IT LOVES IT... I have put about 20k on my motor HARD MILES VERY HARD MILES... the motor has about 50?-55?k on it... real oil seal is pretty shot but when it finally blows I will rebuild it turbo it and beat the hell out of it even more... na rotary motors LOVE to be reved to hell... I guess thats why they are puting them into airplanes... Where the motor has to sit at relitivly high rpm for quite some time... How can I justify moding a car that looks like ****??? How can you justify spending all this money in exterior mods when your car is slow as ****??? And as far as drag racing goes I dont know about u but I LIVE IN AMERICA... in america THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE INTO PREFORMANCE INCLUDEING ME ARE INTO STRAIGHT LINE PREFORMANCE... I guess it goes like this... I am into rotary preformance... thats all I think about thats all I live for... Some people really arnt... and I really dont want to come in here and talk **** to people that ARE REALLY WORKING ON PUTTING SOME PONEYS TO THE GROUND.... But nothing pisses me off more then haveing the car I PICKED FOR ITS OUTSTANDING PREFORMANCE CHARTERISTICS riced out and made a fool of by some Civic SI with a fart pipe... lets just leave it at that...

So basically, what you're saying here is that since the majority of people in America today are sheep, you want to be one of them.. gee, I SURE didn't expect that... how can someone justify spending all that money on something that doesn't enchace performance? Perhaps if you were a semi-audiophile and spent as much time in one of these cars as I do, you'd lay out as much as I have on a stereo the stereo.. why do people put on gaudy bodykits and loud exhausts? Because they don't know how to work on the engine and extract more performance.. sheesh.. at least they care about their cars and want to make it "better".. while I may not think what they did to their cars was beautiful, I give them credit for wanting to do SOMETHING... it's what the kids back in the 50's did. If they couldn't work on the engine, they did flame jobs, etc.. sure it wasn't any faster than before, but it was different and stood out... This is why I support the guys throwing V8's (ooo.. such an evil term) into their Rexes. They wanted more power, and by god, they sure got it. To some of you guys out there, it may not be a RX-7 anymore, but to them it is. And it's still THEIR car, not yours. Oh, and by the way i_pack_fudge, I'm sad to admit that you are part of my generation. Narrow-minded dorks like you are why kids like me today have such a rough time getting any respect from the older crowd. Hopefully by the time you're 30 you'll have extracted your head from your *** and have gotten a clue. Or maybe WE'LL get lucky and you'll get hit by a bus.. either way.......

Narrow minded dorks like me??? oh... people like me that LIKE to go fast... THAT LIKE to get some power out of there cars.... NO U are the kind of person that makes it hard for PEOPLE LIKE ME to get anyrespect... Face it someone who was into preformance there entire 50?+ years NO MATTER WHO IS REPING YOU is going to think a 18-19 sec car with 5k in stereo equiptment in it is cool... people like you who run around with fart pipes 500 lbs of stereo equipt in your cars reving at people WILL NEVER GET RESPECT... I think a little bit of show is cool IF you have somthing to back it up... Most people dont...

dude, just ******* die, stop posting, its really anioing now.. no one here agrees with you, much less is supporting your "fight" with pretty much yourself. NO ONE said anything about stereos and bodykits except for you. this thread WAS about carbon fiber hoods till your bitch *** came here bitching about kits, trying to be "anti rice" when really you dont know what the **** your talking about. 20k miles on a motor isnt that reliable compared to a motor that will last 100k+ so go ahead and believe that...

im really tired of hearing this ****, personally i think a mod should lock this thread.. or is it just me?

So, basically you're saying that in a perfect, rice-free world, everyone would drive around in POS cars with stock engines, and rusting-out chassis' like yours? Wow.... that'd be interesting.... like c'mon, seriously, there's gotta be some sort of style, and no, style isn't rice....

Yes they are putting them in airplanes, but not beacuse they rev high like you said. Its power to weight ratio and other reasons. Airplane engines arent meant to run at high revs all the time, too much fuel consumption. I only mentioned that I was a mechanic so you would know that I understand the concept and was not laying down bullshit.

You know something? I actually agree with you on that. But thats just an opinion right? There really is no right or wrong answer here. SOme people dont care at all if their car looks like a pos, as long as its killer fast. SOme dont care for screaming performance, but like a nice looking car (and whats nice looking is again a matter of opinion). Most of us fall somewhere in the middle. It really does no good to try to push your opinion down other peoples throats, and berate people you dont even know. DOnt prejudge people please.

so wouldn't loseing any weight make that ratio better? thus improving the cars performance??

Sure one mod isent gonna turn it into a race car, but do the c/f hood lose the spare wheel and jack, p/s, a/c the rats nest ect... it is going to make it all worthwhile!

PS i hate the C/F look

Yeah but as I was saying 20lbs isnt going to make a difference... now 20+20+20+20+20+20+20+20 will ... Hp to wieght+ traction is EVERYTHING... spending $600 on a cf hood to loose 20 lbs just doesnt make sense to me unless your running REAL LOW on wieght reduction options ...

Ok, this is my LAST post on this thread!

i_piss_on_hondas- Yes it is reliable agreed, and yea you can be kinda pushy, remember its easy to **** people off on a msg board.

851stgen12a- FOrget about him, get some of that **** for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adsy01 -It all adds up yes . And I dont like the show off look at my CF hood either, but if thats your style then go for it! Who the hell are we to judge? Right?

i_piss_on_hondas- yes one 20lb mod wont do anything. But we ALL seem to agree that it all adds up.

Hey..........anyone want to buy a CF hood????hehehe

The fiberglass hoods are $250.00 and the CFs are $375.00. These hoods are truly for racing only, they are not going to hold their shape out on the street!!!!

Yes, I paint my CF hood for racing. The CF hoods are coming out about 11lbs and the fiberglass are about 14lbs.

Oh yah, 1lb makes a huge difference for me!!! I forget what SCCA equated out but something like for every 10lbs reduction = 1/10th of a sec. on the track(road racing) At nationals 3 years ago the top ten cars were all with in 1/100th of a second of each other!!!!!

I sold a fiberglass to to Ken S.(RX7.com) who drag races in the "all motor" class in the IDRC. Ken races a 1st gen and is in the top three I think in his class. Ken replaced the steel hood with the fiberglass hood and now the car pulls the front wheels off of the ground!! Peripheral port, fuel injected, no NOS, no turbo!!! Ken is running in the 10s!!
