Carb Removal
Holy crap I don't even want to mention the time I've had removing this carb. And its still nto off yet Anyway on to the point, I don't even knwo where to being to remove the nut on the back of hte carb on teh driver side, does anyone have any little tips they use? Is there a special wrench thats easily accessable to help with this (I can't find 12mm distributor wrenches anywhere). I really want to get this carb off asap. Oh and yeah, this carb has NEVER been off before, so the nuts are an extra large pain in the ***, which would explain all the cuts and blood on my hands right now. Thanks guys.

There is a special wrench you can buy. I have one, actually. It is a distributor wrench for a 280 datsun, (I think) and it's from snap-on. It's been a long time since I've needed to use it.
You could just take off the intake manifold and it will be much easier.

last week i did a mild strip down of my motor in the car, took out the carb, rats nest, intake manifold, smog pump, and pulled most of the exhaust. i just started on top and move down piece by piece (and re-assembled on the side). as soon as i removed all the vac. lines to the carb, all i needed was a normal 12mm wrench to remove the 4 nuts.

This is much easier to do if you have removed the rat's nest beforehand.
Otherwise, you can take a standard wrench, heat it up with a torch and bend it to the proper angle. If you do a search for carb removal, you will probably find this all covered in great detail.
Since my rat's nest is gone, it only takes about five minutes to remove the carb. Much easier...

I didn't have too much trouble taking off the 4 blots holding it down, all I did was use a resonably large screw driver. Best of all, I didn't screw any of them up once. The one I had the one that really pissed me off was the one under that small canister-like thing that's held on by 3 screws. I think the Haynes describes the process as, "Taking a bit more patience."

Yah thats the one I wa talking about, yet it was the one that probably gave me close to the least rouble next to the passenger front side. Now I got a turb prepped nikki (thanks robert) on there, its runnign a bit odd, so I gotta find out what exactly is wrong ( i think my fuel system is just that bad) but holy crap is it better than my old carb. If not for hte trouble starting up I would say my car is better than ever stupid fuel system, or whatever it is I over looked.
