carb rebuild help

i just rebuilt my carb on my 84. it had a gas leak, so now it doesnt anymore. but my question is, it has bearly any top end power compard to what it was before. it doesnt rev up as fast, and bearly can even go to 7k. right now im welding on a air/fuel ratio gauge to see how that is. any pointers or things to check? every once in a while its really hard to push open the secondaries, as in i can open them about 1/8 of the way and bearly any after that. but sometimes i can open them fully with out any trouble so im thinking maybe i put something on wrong?

Secondarys are vacuum operated, did you try to make them mechanical?

Doubt it, otherwise he would not be able to operate the accel pedal much per the problem he describes...

In my sig line is a link to the FSMs, in there is the full Mazda carb manual. Download it and compare.

Trust me, it's easy to make little mistakes and bugger up the linkage and it can get very hard to figure out what one did wrong. That's why I always keep one untouched carb around for guidance, just in case.
