Carb. Rebuild = Poor Running Car
My car is running really bad after I rebuilt the car. It starts easily and idles nicely too, but when I start driving it has poor acceleration and backfires. When I floor it, it is really slow and I can't even come close to redlining in any gear. It backfires a lot when changing speed. After about 15 min. of driving it smokes starts coming from under the dash. I pulled the plugs and it is running way too rich and pretty much fouling out the front plugs. The rear housing plugs look okay. Previously it was burning oil after the rebuild, but that problem has seamed to gone away, but may have done damage to the catalytic converter and the rest of the exhaust. Is there anything I could be missing that would cause this. I need help!

My floats were bent before the rebuild so I did adjust and straighten them. I set them as my carb. rebuild kit said 5/8th with the air horn upside down and 2" with the air horn as it would sit on the car. I believe everything is plugged in, but I will check when I get home along with the level of the float bowls. Thanks Jon
