Carb hoses

Alright, i'm starting a new thread because this is just about carb hoses. Alright, my ?s. You guys tell me to have the air pump kept hooked up, but there is nothing to hook it up to the new Pwer Pulse air filter. I know its not meant for and emissions, but i want it and i have emissions here. Is it ok if the air pump hose is just left on the air pump but nothing else? Then, the little tiny vacuum hose on the rats nest that connects to the bottom of the stock carb is supposed to be plugged, but then it won't get the full vacuum source for the other solenoids. My friend left the little vac hose on, but not connected to anything, It runs fine. Should i leave it like that?? The rest don't need to be plugged right? I can just leave the rest of the hoses on but not hooked up obviously, Right? Sorry, for the long post, i just wan it to run at its full potential and correctly. Thanks in advance and god bless

I know you PM'd me about the pics in theFSM being small, blow them up. I don't have a single 7 here that still has stock emissions to be able to tell you how to route everything. My suggestion is to sit down with the FSM, the stock air box and figure out what each line that goes to it does. Then you can decide what you need hooked up and what you don't.

The air pump, it's hoses and the acv will need to be connected somehow to preseve the cat and meet emissions. The intake source for the air pump does not have to filtered, iirc it draws it's source from filtered air inside the air box, but it will last longer if it has a filtered supply.

Keep working on it, I know you can figure it out. You might post pics of the different lines that are in question. The guys that need to keep everything stock for emissions may be of more help than I can be.

Ya, I Blew up the pages on the FSM. I'm not that technical with computers. Thanks for everything tho trochoid. I'll start sudying. I guess i'll have to have some shop custom fabricate metal hoses that i can connect the air pump and other hoses to from the PP air filter or something

So, i was going to go on a drive with the Power Pulse air filter, but ended up going with the stock one. Everything was good with the PP air filter until the choke went in all the way. It went down to 1k rpm then stopped fro a second or two and idled a little rough than it went down to normal idle and was fine. When this happened i changed the PP air filter and put the stock one on. Oh ya, there is one hole in the PP air filter where i can fit the little tiny idle hose in. So i put it in there and left all the other hoses on but not connected to anything. Found out that there are only two hoses sucking and they are the little idle one and the air pump. Which one is the acv, because its hard to know what you're looking at with the diagram i am in my FSM?? So should i leave the little idle hose in the power pulse where it can get some air and it will be filtered or should i plug it? I guess i'll make something custom so the air pump can get filtered air. Then there are two bigger hoses on the left side of the carb(looking at the front of the car) that don't seem to do anything. I'll look it up, but should i plug these. Thanks and god bless

BTW, sorry its all unorganized.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/finally-pickin-up-my-83-a-592914/. Check out the carb in the pics at the bottom of the page. Those two hoses connected to the carb aren't doing anything it seems like. Do i plug those? Those are what i'm talikng about.

One end of each of those 2 hoses connects to the air cleaner, what does the other ends of them connect too? The air cleaner provides filtered air to these hoses, that's all.

Ok, my haynes manual says that one connects to the air pump and the other is connected to the acv. Then on the other side of the stock carb theres another hose that is connected to the coasting valve. So, pretty much everything can stay on right? So, the only difference is the hoses aren't filtered

Yay, i guess i'll just leave everything on and switch back to the old one for emissions. I guess i'm done then. I'm was confused thats why. I'm new to the carb system
