Can't remove easy part of master cylinder!

I was able to get under my clutch pedal and get the two bolts out inside the car but now that I have the metal hose inside the engine compartment to contend with, I'm stuck! For clarification, do I remove the small nut (banjo?) which seems to tighten the metal hose entrace or the large bolt (also banjo?) which the small bolt threads into? I've actually tried both and neither budge even with PB Blaster (SP?). These bolts are both located right next to the white fluid resevoir and have a metal hose which enters through the center of both of them.

you want to turn on the smaller one while holding backup on the bigger.

if you only turn the small one and the conection breaks at the bigger one and the master youll twist a kink in the steel line

good luck ive been working on my clutch hydralics for about three days finally found the problem last night, the P,O rebuilt the master and some how left the inner plunger inside the master

Well, this is my first, well almost everything with cars, so I can imagine I will strip the nut or kink the line. Man, it sure would be more fun if things just came off and went on like new. So, Obviously, I'm removing this cylinder because it's faulty; leaks its reservoir into the cabin to be exact, failing to hold fluid to boot. What all is typically needed, "kit" wise, to repair this thing? I keep seeing Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder rebuild kits but they appear to come in various magnitudes ranging from a few rubber washers to what appears to be nearly the entire unit. I've seen what also appear to be entirely new units for $60. Heck, I'd probably spend $60 just to save the time in cleaning and trial and error of the rebuild if the price is accurate.

i would just buy a good replacment part, its just not good practice to rebuild with out the proper tools. although a rebuild kit is $7.00 and a new master is from $40.00 to $60.00

I have thought the same thing but then remembered that I can't get the old one off so I'm kind of stuck until that situation's end works out. I may have to get a new cylinder AND the metal tubing. Anyone know how hard those are to get, come-by, install?
