Can't find Replacement Brake Parts!

I've been searching everywhere I can think of for replacement bushings for the guide pins on the calipers!

You know those lil rubber boots?

No one has them in stock! I've gone through every mainstream parts store, online warehouse and even RockAuto...

Either they website says they sell the part but they're warehouses don't have it in stock, or it just doesn't exist!

Its driving me nuts because these lil boots are the only thing that's really stopping me from rebuilding my calipers...

Anyone have ideas?

I've tried RockAuto... The item under "Caliper Guide Pin Boot Kit" ended up being replacement guide pins and no boots.

yeah but mazdatrix has the front only and its $19.13 just for the boots but rockauto has that whole kit in that pic above for the rear only for $15.08 BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0717641 so mazdatrix for the front and RA for the back I'd say

I ordered the front boot kit from the dealer about 4 months ago. First set they got was opened and missing pieces, but after I talked them into returning and reordering them, they got the proper kit; four boots (2 open ended, 2 closed) and a pouch or rubber-safe grease for them. Cost about $15, $20 or so as I recall. Took a few days.

Of course, convincing them that there was supposed to be more than one part in the kit required knowing my way around the parts catalog for the SA's better than the counterman did... and you can't go "by the book," right?

That's funny... I find our Mazda Dealership's parts counter to be far too used to their boinger cars and little to no knowledge on anything other than FD's and RX8's

I went ahead and ordered the parts...

But while I'm still on, its been raining too much for me to work on the two cars and I haven't even finished rebuilding teh front calipers so I haven't bothered removing the rears...

Are they the same caliper? or are they different? The FSM doesn't exactly make it real clear to me... : S

My SA's got rear drums, so I can't say, but if you check the parts fiche, you can tell easily as the part numbers will change between front and rear.

You don't find many countermen that know first gens well; not much chance for them to build experience.

Front and rear are completely different. Rear are much smaller and the piston screws into the caliper body.
