can you use a EFI fuel pump with a carb and a fpr
I read that someone was going to use a EFI 2nd gen fuel pump on there 1st gen blow thru turbo. he stated that he wanted to make sure he had enough fuel pressure. well before I go and buy a fuel pump for the system Im setting up I would like to know if I could use a efi fuel pump with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. would it kill the RRFPR in turn flooding the engine?

woa, hold on a second. You do know that the second gens have an intank fuel pump right? What you want is a fuel pump from a GSL-SE. I have heard of people using EFI fuel pumps with a pressure regulator on a carb without a problem.

i believe it was me that you read that from; you can actually make the second gen pump work, you just have to cut and fab. but yea, the gsl-se pump is easier and should be sufficient. just get a good rrfpr and your fine. good luck!

lol, thanks buddy! WOO WOOOOO! nah it works just fine. i've actually run a gsl-se pump before without a regulator. it was hilarious! i've never seen the float bowls fill up so fast! it was all in fun.

I just installed a carter fuel pump with a holley fpr. It works great. Got the pump for $60 and the regulator for $25. It has the ability to supply way more fuel than I will probably ever be able to use.
