Can you remove the oil pan without raising the motor?

Well, I got my t2 project running, unfortunately the shop that put on my flywheel, front cover and oil pan did not seal the pan properly and it is leaking.

I'm hoping I can pull the pan off to re-seal it without having to lift the engine. Has anyone done this or have any pointers?

thanks

short answer is no.
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/engine-removal-front-engine-cover-while-still-car-644395/ Basically use this as a guide and you should be able to have enough room to squeeze the oil pan out. Last time I did this I remember it was a tight fit but can be done.
of course you wont need to actually take the front cover off.

Yea you should not have to unbolt the motor. There is a splash / rock guard take that off and the pan should slide out backwards I think. I have not removed one before on a Mazda.

You might want to try it before advising someone else

I think the link wayrx7 provided is a good way to go.

Yep. You need to do like wayrx7 posted. If you don't jack it up, up might be able to get it out if you are willing to take apart the steering. The method in the link is the best way to do it IMO.

You can indeed take it off without removing the motor. What's your point? It's a community response I expected others to fill in the blanks on procedure.

An Hour, that's not bad. Man when I get married, I hope my wife will help me fix my car

I was thinking about removing the steering linkage to do it and put on the moog idler arm at the same time.
