2.5 years of training, and 5 years of experience? sounds like hes got a ton of experience (not saying i have more, or that im good)... umm winter driveablity isnt poor on a carb. drive mine in the winter, no problems..turbo compatibilty is poor with a carb? looks like alot of people have been getting it wrong for such a long time... its all a matter of preference... each have the pros and cons... and personally i think a bigger wow is a large turbod carb over a EFI turbo car

Truth be told, I believe that the ability to control everything the engine does through a computer is the only reason Fuel Injection is used over carbs. Well, that and fuel consumption, but that kind of goes hand in hand, doesn't it?

Skill required on an EFI is advanced? Never seemed that complicated to me....

Because EFI is more efficient. No one here is bashing you. We are just saying that it is easier and cheaper to boost prep and turbo a carbed car, than to run EFI in a carbed car. Each side has the plus' and minus', it is just that when someone says that such and such is not possible, and many have done it before.... well... maybe it is.

Thats an easy answer.... fuel economy and he ease of everything in the car being controlled by the same computer... any novice can get an AFc with a wideband and goo hmmm 5% more duty cycle a this rpm umm -%5 here and voila good A/F ratio through out the RPM range... its all about ease of instalation...

And when the world ends because of nuclear war my car is still gonna be able to start because the EMP didnt kill all of the electronics in it lol

I really dont want to get involved in the debate,but I have to offer this bit of advice....

If you want to turbocharge any car for the fun and performance of it,and you cant even figure out 20+ year old OBD0 fuel injection technology,then you really shouldnt be attempting the job.1st and 2nd gen rotary EFI is positively archaic people,its not that hard.If you cant figure it out well enough to support your desired plans,then you are unlikely to be able to build and tune a carbed system of similar performance numbers.

That said,which is better is a matter of prefference.Yes,there are FAR more EFI engines out there.Most young enthusiasts were brought up and cut their teeth on older EFI cars,so it makes sense that carbs are falling to the way-side.But there are plenty of carbed performance cars out there too.It all depends on your prefference and comfortability levels.I started out with carbs because I was used to them growing up with lots of motorcycles.But once I had figured out EFI,Ill never go back to carbs.All my project cars since the RX have been converted to EFI with nothing but positive results.
If you like carbs and can tune them to work for you,then go for it.
If you know enough about EFI to use it,then its hard to not consider it an option.
If you dont know which one is "better" then you probably dont know enough about EITHER ONE to even be attempting a turbocharging conversion.
