Can the clutch master cylinder be moved over 1/2 inch?

Or maybe spaced outward to allow for a 9 inch 4 pot brake booster? I am converting to a 5 lug T2 setup and want the bigger booster and master cyl.

if you can find the competition prep manual for the 1st gen, it tells you how to do just that, and prolly give you a template too

No need to move the clutch master.
Ive run a TII booster for years, and all I did was grind a bit of material off the side of the clutch master.Since its cast iron,it only takes a couple minutes to smooth out the right side of the cylinder and gain the clearance you need......its still close, but it works fine.

those spaces you have steve, no one seems to know about them. i had never seen one until i saw one on my parts GSLSE. i tried to remove it but when i saw it the flat bed was backing up to load it up and it was too late...oh well.

Yep,it takes two of them to get the pushrod length correct, when putting a TII/GXL brake booster into a 1st gen.
I dont doubt that they are fairly unknown.......I mean, how many people have wanted or needed to change out the brake booster, whether for repair or upgrade? Its not a commonly touched item, compared to so many other parts.
