A/c not charging can it be this? Pic inside
I posted a issue about this before about the a/c not tacking in the freon and wanted to know if it could be this that is bad? It's the cylinder part and right where the line goes in its drenched with oil at the fitting. It seems like it is not working properly. Can this be it? What is it.

Thats the receiver/drier....if its leaking, it definately would explain why you arent able to get the system to charge. The oil you are seeing could be compressor oil (in the freon as a lube) residue thasts left after it leaks out. Best I remember it has an o ring seal at each line. That part will be available at an auto parts store for order, Id replace it, they arent too expensive. Think of it almost as a "filter" for your AC system....

Yea, that should be replaced as a matter of course anytime you recharge the ac after its been out of service. It is a filter and it has a dessicant in it to remove moisture from the system. Another thing that needs to be replaced as a matter of course is the expansion valve mounted in the evaporator under the dash.

Its not to bad, disconnect the two ac lines at the firewall, three bolts that mount the evaporator underneath the dash and the clamps that secures the duct to the fan and the heater. Remove the clips that hold the two halves of the evaporator cover and then the fittings that connect the valve.

I think you have it the wrong way around. The gas enters the top of the condensor, out the bottom and then IN to the receiver dryer. You have the IN pointing away from the condensor
