Build it up, make it fast, pros and cons of my restoration

Well, the car is done...almost. Need to get the timing dialed in and get the carb dialed in. Let me say this to all of you who are thinking you want to do this, that and the other thing to make your RX7 better, faster, etc. This car is loud! I mean really loud. Yes, part of it is because the engine is streetported and I have no air cleaners over my airhorns yet. The car drives like a raped ape, that is for sure. This is not a car you would want to drive daily, yes it is fun as hell, but until I get ALL of the kinks worked out, its almost too much. Having a full interior will lower my noise in cab alot too.
I must admit that I had a lot of fun in my initial drive of the car after I had it going today. Lots of power, but not very linear (thats the carb and timing needing work). I love the way the CYM Paint came out, looks great. While the engine and body are for the most part done, I still have so much work to do. Need to get the new seats in. Still need to make my custom door panels(with extra noise deadening material please!). My plan is to have this car still maintain its streetability, I killed alot of that with my stripped interior, so I will be putting that back in ASAP. Need new gauges too for everything (oil pressure, temperature, volts). I cannot re-iterate this enough to everyone thinking of modifying their RX7. It is a LOT of work, and you will NEVER recoup the amount to money you put into the vehicle. I don't want to deter anyone from doing anything, just want you to be well informed. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY THIS CAR TURNED OUT. I can say this because I knew the car was going to be loud and rough, because it was a little of that before I started this restoration. I will take some pictures in the next week as I get the interior put back in and after I detail the car out.

I've done so much work on the widebody, between the body kit, the bridgeport, full suspension upgrade, now running a 3" exhaust, all new gauges except the tach and speedo, roll bar, the damn thing is more of a track car than a street car. Get my money back out of it, not a chance in hell, and that's just for parts with no concideration for all the labor I've put into it.

The good thing is, I know it's done right and all of the positive feedback I've gotten, even from the piston guys, has been amazing and very satisfying.

Loud and proud man! Honestly, would it be as much fun if it was quiet? My new project car I decided to go with side pipes (well pipe) but only on the passenger side. If its too loud you're too old!

Trust me, I'm very happy with the sound, I love the sound of the streetport with the carb and exhaust. Doesn't quite have the whirling sound anymore, but a nice throuty Brap Brap Brap. I truly enjoy driving it. The main reason for my post is to help a lot of the new kids on here really understand what they will be dealing with, It is everything I was hoping for and Nothing I wasn't. I would do it all over again in a heart beat, but I would plan it out much better, and I would go with a 13b-REW rather than another 12a...hmmmm, theres a fb for sale local for $400, oooh, new project!
