Bridgeport or streetport?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of bridge porting over street porting or vise versa. Also how much hp can be gained by doing with a NA engine with a hi flo exhaust and new carb modifications. One more thing how much money would each one cost?

Thanks!!

bridge-port - around 230+rwhp, lumpy 1800rpm idle, requires free-flowing (loud) exhaust for max power, needs big carb such as IDA Weber, poor fuel economy, somewhat of a bitch to drive in traffic, requires one piece carbon seals.

street-port - aproximately 170rwhp, boring idle , works well with modded Nikki carby and side-draught Weber, Dellorto etc., acceptable fuel economy, retains near stock driveability.

There's also the option of going half bridge. When used with a four barrel carby they have better low rpm power plus you can get away with using the stock steal seals.

IMO, go the full bridge.

Agreed, I would rather build myself another bridgeport then a streetport. The power difference is too good to pass up. Baleee DAT!
