brake maintenance
I have a '83 GSL (4-wheel disc) and it's time to replace the brakes and rotors for the first time since i've owned the car.
Are there any web sites that give a good overview of the replacement process? i have a haynes manual, but i wanted to supplement it.
also, what replacement parts would you suggest and where should i get them? i'm not really big on upgrading my brake system (as nothing else on the car is upgraded), so cheap OEM replacements are fine with me.

Depending on rotor condition, get them turned if they will allow it.. The hayes manual gives the specs and if you dont have a micrometer I'm sure the place that will rotate them has one... And usually I go to NAPA, I've always had great results, they are guaranteed and NAPA has been around for awhile... Get rotor friendly pads. And when you compress the back calipers, you need to screw them in, unlike the front ones you can use a clamp with... Other then that its pretty much putting it back together the opposite way of taking them apart... I painted my calipers last time I changed everything though... Dont know why, it just came over me to have flaming red calipers.
