brake job

ok guys, this little pc of bent metal that apparently fell when i changed my brake pads, where does it go?

i didnt notice it when i took everything apart but, once my brakes didnt work right i started looking in the driveway for parts i missed and lo and behold there are 2 little pcs of *wire* that are bent in a funny way and look important.

i looked in the victoria british book and they are parts you can buy so im sure they fell my car.

where do they and how do they go?

i shouldnt need to bleed anything should i?

i never disconected any lines just used a c-clamp to pust the piston back in and put on the new pads.

ok i found my book and aparently its the anti rattle pc for the pads. no big deal.

but why would my pedal be very soft and when i slow down enough (when im mashing the pedal as hard as i can to the floor in an attempt to stop) i can hear the rear brakes lock up?

do i need to bleed?

Sounds like you need to bleed the brakes again.
