Brake bleeder problem

I went to bleed my rear brakes today to find that there is a LOT of rust on the calipers, they work fine but the handbrake is seized. When I tried to put a wrench on the bleeders I had the area that the wrench contacts fall apart from rust.

I stopped and sprayed penetration fluid on them, before I go and snap them off trying a multi grip on them has anyone got a better idea to loosen the damn things, I have new bleeders and complete spare calipers if needed but if they'll come out I would just as easily replace the bleeders only.

Sears sells a cool tool that is designed just for it. We use them in the shop. I forget the name but they work well..........

Lots of P B Blaster and let them soak overnight. If that doesn't do it, add heat, then 5R vice grips.

jfachner72, Searching Sears.com with no luck can you identify the part name, brand and or number.

trochoid, I think the narrow area will shear of very easily when I put vice grips on them as they are very thin before the rust and after...well.

i usually use a little mmo to free up the bleeder screw. i had to do it on my b13 sentra and my dad's truck. just put it on and let it sit for about an hour and a half. tends to free it right up.

Yeah, they do break easily. I've snapped off brand new ones before. I think they used the wrong thread lock, didn't even get to bleed them. Best bet may be removing the caliper first, that way you have room to work on it.

I might just swap the spares in so the car stays in running shape and then do what i can on these calipers.
