Bought my first Rotary!
Just bought a 1983 GSL that has sat under a tarp for 19 years. The motor rotates easily should I still run through the prosses of cleaning carbon lock or should it be okay?

welcome to the board.
congratulations on getting the car. post a photo when you get a minute.
if it turns freely by hand, then it sounds like you're looking pretty good. after 19 years, you'll probably want to put new oil + filter in it and drain the tank of whatever not-fuel is in there. after filling it with new fuel, you should also probably run the pump for 30 seconds or so into a container before reconnecting the line to the carb - (just to clear the line and not foul up the filters in the carb). check for good spark at the plugs. make sure the battery is new or at least good enough to be like new. disable the ignition and crank it for a while to get some oil flow before actually trying to start it.
these are just minimal things if you want to fire it and see if it runs. do not run it like this for more than a minute or two.

Agree with KCREPU. Those fuel lines look to be in pretty sad shape. I just went through this job on my 34 yo FC. Replaced all 4 steel pipes (supply & return fuel lines, brake hydraulic line and fuel vapor line). For my FC, the 8mm fuel lines were NLA from Mazda. Had to fabricate them both, which was about a 2 day job for me. That was only for the lines. Car was in the shop for almost 24 working days. I used a coil of Ni-Cop line. Ni-Cop is softer than steel, which made it easier to work with. Alternative, there's a shop calling Classic Tube near Buffalo NY that will duplicate your original lines, but they will need to send them your old lines. Might be a little pricey, but to own an RX7 these days requires deep pockets. Good luck with the RX7.
