Borla it is!
About a week ago, i got home from vacation took the 7 out around the block and went to bed, a few minutes later, i wake up to a police officer at my door because my car was disturbing a neighbor. This was around 10:00 and my car has been this loud for a year! The com ended up giving me a warning, so i was forced to quiet it down.
After looking around at what choices i had, i decided to go with a Borla pro xs in addition to the 2 magnaflows that I currently have. I purchased part #40358 2.5" I/O offset/center and it arrived today.
Shipping was fast and I am having it installed at 4:00 today.
I got it from http://www.wickednicky.com/borla_pro_xs.html but through his ebay store and it ended up costing more than if i would have gone through his website. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...133678887&rd=1
Here are some pictures of what I got and sound clips should be up by tomorrow.

wow... 3 muffler? sounds like your dumping more money into your exhaust than you should be. How come they only started complaining now? Ive got an RB SP system and its not loud at all, with just the one muffler and the presilencers (1 per pipe)

sup im close to the area and i got a comment too but mine is temp tell ican afford some one to do mine so i had a header and glasspack now it is header glasspack and cherry bomb (turbo). soon header, magnaflow, cherry bomb. but mine was loud you could hear like a mile away (not really i dont think) they really sould not complain about yours but hope it turns out

What is the worst is that he accused me of racing on that street. I'm sorry, but on a street as narrow as mine with cars parked on both sides, i dont think it is possible. I recommend skipping the magnaflow and going with the borla. I have yet to get the car back, but the borla i got will actually muffle!

The muffler didnt have any scratches, but was kinda dull you could say. i could polish it with some stainless steel stuff and one of those polishing ***** in no time without a doubt.

Excellent choice! I can't wait for an audio clip.
Hey, are you saying that buying from http://www.wickednicky.com/borla_pro_xs.html is a better deal than through his eBay store?

Wow, it is cheaper from his site. Thanks.
When I measured my car, it looked like that very model would fit the cat location no problem. Just have the offset in front and the centered in back. Have them change the angle of the pipe or something.

hmmm you say yours is quiet with just a borla and a 4inch round magnaflow. That is what i have now plus an old ceramic glasspack by the header and well, I kind of wish i had an extra muffler there too--- like putting another borla right after the header like you guys are talking about. However, I am getting used to the loudness--haha - it does not sound as loud now after a couple weeks. Also, my car is pretty quiet at idle-- however, while in some gears and certain rpms I feel like I have to shift gears because the sound can be annoying. Doesn't sound too bad though--- I would just prefer it a bit quieter--- i guess I am getting old.

As promised.
The borla was installed at the very end after the axle with and the magnaflow after the header.

I like the fact that it has an alot deeper note than the Magnaflow ... Looks like borla is the new Magnaflow on this forum now . I'm putting mine in the Cat location, but maintaining the magnaflow in the back. I Depending on how I like things. I might swap out that Magnaflow for a borla in the back too.

i like it. my exhaust is a little louder, but i also have an exhaust leak i need to fix and in using a straqight through XR-1. id liek to eventually switch out the XR-1 for an XS-1.
after doing some research, i also think itd probably be a better idea to run a 2" exhaust rather than a 2.5". thatd retain the low end power better.

I think you mean Pro XS.
And yes a 2" exhaust will have better street performance. I'm only going with 2.5" on the 20B because I have to. And Rotary20B made 450HP on his 2.5" system with a turbo. He can go 3" now, but his 2.5" system was perfect when he was NA, like what I'm doing.
On my three recent 4 port 13B rebuilds, two are getting a 2" exhaust system with straight through mufflers. The third is on my Cosmo which curiously has a 2" system in front of the middle presilencer (right before the rearend) but then it contracts down to 1.75" immediately after the presilencer and continues in 1.75 over the rearend and into the stock muffler. Freaky, but it makes sense because the exhaust gasses start to contract as they cool that far from the engine. Shrinking the pipe diameter helps maintain velocity.
Interestingly enough, this car had a thermal reactor and heat exchanger with an auto tranny, yet it only behaved that way at low RPM. It was gutless off the line and at low RPM, but as soon as it got above about 3k or so and you popped open the secondaries, the Cosmo would really come alive. So as far as the exhaust being any kind of restriction, I don't think so. It's funny too because you can't even see through the heat exchanger and the thermal reactor had only a series of maybe 10mm or smaller holes for the exhaust to flow through, and was showing signs of melting.
Now that it's getting a header and RB presilencer, it should pick up power everywhere except maybe from idle to about 1500. Oh well, having a stick shift should take care of the low end. Plus I'm very interested to find out where the power is in the RPM range now. Will it gain more up top? Will the 1.75" pipe cause a restriction? Will the exhaust gasses stay hotter without a heat exchanger doing... whatever it did to the exhaust temperature, making the 1.75" pipe unnecessary?
Anyway this post was just to say that 2" should be fine for the street, and you can get it in thickwall from RB.
Thanks for posting those clips. It's still louder than a Racing Beat system, but two Borlas would probably take care of that.
