Boosting on Ethanol

I know the pros and cons of running E85 ethanol have been debated here before, and for NA its generally not a good idea...
BUT I am finally getting around to my blow-thru turbo project and I feel like 105-110 octane PLUS the evaporative cooling effect of ethanol (on a setup that I KNOW will run really hot) would be worth it.

I'll probably be replacing all of my rubber fuel hoses (again) anyways.

The reason I'm thinking of this is because I have a Honda-head friend who boosts 19psi on E85 and swears by it.

Would a normal wideband work fine running ethanol? Any particular components that wouldn't like it?

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone tried it? Anyone wanna say "n00b ethanol is crap"? I'd prefer actual knowledge over slams and uneducated info but thats probably a tough thing to wish for.

Discuss.

I will be running E85 shortly. They just opened a gas station in Miami that carries it. I expect very good results. I would replace the original rubber lines with something newer though.

My tuner is Crispeed.

I don't have any threads or details on my setup as it is not set up yet. Just collecting parts right now. Search though, there are plenty of people running blowthru turbos on NA rotors.

Thats good to hear Directfreak. You'll have to let me know your results. I've always been impressed with your setup. It helps to live in Minnesota where E85 stations are everywhere.

Will I really be the first blow-thru guy on here to have a setup based around E85????

I'm hoping to run without an intercooler on low boost, thats a big part of my motivation to do this.

Slightly off the original topic, but does anyone on here know anything about the SK 50 carb? (I believe the company is now called OER) I picked up FBII's old setup and really know nothing about this carb. Just interested in what kind of fuel pressure it needs and any other tuning tips.

Run the weber setup of the same carb. OER 45 = Weber 45DCOE, OER 50 = Weber 50 DCO SP Carburetor. OER was established in 1991
