Bonez Intake or ??

Ok just wondering if anyone is sporting the Bonez on thier 84-85 GSL SE?? Or some other form of cold air intake. Im thinking of making a homebrew job with the use of Intense Performance Quick Cold. Check the link and scroll down...

I can't believe no one has a Bonez or Custom intake on thier GSLSE...!! Well if thats the case I'll let you know how it turns out when I do it. I'll try and get some dyno pulls

It won't make much difference in HP if any as the air flow meter is the GSL-SE's weak point.

And the throttle body as a weak point, however a cone filter and a cold air box DOES make a big difference in mine.
the stock airbox has a restrictive entrance to the AFM, adding a cone filter, makes it a strait shot into the AFM, less restriction. more power.

I am sorry if this is not what anyone wants to hear, but I have heard the bonez systems are a waste of money.

i've heard the same thing. and if you're going to buy a cone, i'd go with k&n. their cones are the same price if not cheaper, and i trust k&n more than any other air filter company. www.k2rd.com used to have (might still have) an adapter plate that attaches to the stock air flow meter and allowed for a cone to hook right up to it. the adapter was $25 and a k&n cone is like $30-$40, thus making the whole system cheaper than the bonez. if you do a search, i've seen a few threads with links to ways to make a cheap homemade adapter for a cone.

I've talked with the folks at Rx7.com about it and it's basically just a homemade kit they scrounge up the parts for and double the price.. Nothing too fancy or hard to copy. They never have them in stock anyway, they need to steal coolant tank brackets from junk 12a cars....

Save your $$, and make your own.
