Body Kit don't be scurred

this isnt the average body kit thread. but i dont like the limited availability for our cars, so i was wondering what you guys think about this, i realize it will take some work, but the body styles are very similar. i was thinking about using a nissan 240sx bumper stock or otherwise, and i think that it looks like it will only take minimul work to make it fit.

i think the only trouble spot will be the lower outside portions of the bumpers. and possibly the headlight location, but i think some of these will fit the header panel very good.

one of them is only 108$ thats not too much, so im thinking once i get back on my feet, im going to try it, but i want to see if anyone else can think of any reason why it wouldnt work

I like the Bloodline kit the most and i would actually put it on my 240 or try it out on the FB. The second one, the Nismo body kit is not bad. But IMO the Silk Automotive BMX bumber is just ugly and i dont think it would look good on a 1st Gen.

But just so you know that $108 is only for the front bumber and does not include sides and rear skirts.

The side skirts will be pretty easy because all you have to do is put the Left skirt on the Right side of the car and Right skirt on the left side of the car. You will then need to cut out a coupe inshes of each skirt because it will be a little long.

By switching the skirts to the oposiite side the rear portion of the skirt almost exactly matches the length of the front fender. and the smaller piece would tuck nices behing the door amd rear wheel well.

I think for the bumper it will need to be narrowed a little, hope this helps.

Are these parts fiberglass or poly/plastic? If glass, then they can be modded to fit, if poly, don't bother. I would go for the 2nd one, 1st one is too modern for the 1st gen styling.

^Couldnt you just use some mesh tape and some 2 part epoxy to put them back together if it is poly/plastic?

I was looking at a magazine with an AE86 with a body kit on it, and I was thinking - that front would look great on a 1st gen..

a 240 body kit will work on a 1st gen with some work. There is a older guy that lives near me that has put one on his car. The bumper needs to be cut down alittle to make it fit proper. I'll try to get some pictures of it sunday.

Possibly. I haven't worked with the poly much, but there is a special product to weld pieces together and a specific body filler formulated for it. The filler works well, I haven't tried joining seperate pieces.

i jave a friend with a 240 with the x-type kit and his side skirts would fit my fb by switching the driver and pass sides and cutting out like an inch up front to clear the door

i had put on 240sx sideskirts on my car back in the day. i just flipped the skirts and cut off about an inch and a half where u see the bondo and trimmed the edges to match the door lines.

yea, im aware the price was for just the bumper, thats all i was really curious about, although i really like the look of the side skirts on blownandtwisteds car. but i think the airdam looks like it would fit without too much convincing.

are we at a concencess(SP?)

I think you would also need to get some side skirts at the same time. I'm not sure but from the looks of those bumper I believe they are going to hang a lot lower then the bottom of the stock bumper. So from the side of the car the front would be out of proportion and out of place on the car.

i agree. but at the time, my only concern is the compatibility of the front bumper.
