ON Blowthrough 12A questions..

After some time off I got back to the turbo and got it to run this evening.

But there were some .. well lets call them issues...

I got the car to start but as soon as the RPM gets close to 2000 the car just keeps on revving and I can hear the turbo spooling, Even when I take out the key it still goes for about a second or so like the turbo makes it keep on running.

Can it be my timing is set really wrong?
my wiring all messed up?
or can it be a carb issue?

I will post the jetting tomorrow.

i donno please help
Thank you on all and any input.

What carb are you using? My weber 48 did that, but only after 4000rpm and above 5psi boost. The only thing wrong was it needed a stronger return spring.

It depends on the type of valve you have, it it's a T pin valve then in is more boost out is less. If it's a ball and spring bleeder valve like I used then it's opposite. Venting or restricting the air going to the wastegate makes it think you're running less boost, so the 8psi spring wont open until 12psi or whatever you set it at.

No problem, I'd suggest getting a wideband or some dyno time before turning up the boost, and never go above 16psi on a stock 12a, it WILL blow up, most likely crack the back plate and dump out all the oil in 2seconds, happened to my first motor at 18-20psi.

LOL.. I will make sure not to go that far.. and I do have a wideband (but no $$ for Tuning... SUMMER SUMMER)

I got it started by installing a stiffer spring and it held Idle for a bit, but then I realized that I never freeze plugged the Coolant passage so I got a nice amount of coolant out of the pipe, and some on the carb. Going to fix that today.

Also I set my FPR at 4 PSI for Idle but it seems that It keeps on overflowing through the bottom of the carb.. Maybe the gaskets are dry..or Float got stuck too high, and keeps on filling up.

But I think that I will take off the Carb hat and get the motor to run without the turbo so that I am sure of timing and fuel.

Another Q.
The Regulator shows proper fuel pressure when the key is on ON, but when I start to crank it falls to ZERO.

can it be that I wired the pump to a source that only has + while on ON.. but none during cranking.. or is it because the carb constantly sucking gas?

But it starts and has a new sound .. I LIKE IT!!! .. I like it ALOT

Depending on the year of the car I believe yours may be one that will power the pump until you crank the car and then will switch to the engine running power curcuit. On my car the pump doesn't do anything until the car is running.
