Blocking PMs?

Some guy from the Lounge who thinks "The Canadian Military couldn't take on a boyscout troop" keeps PMing me **** because I'm a Canadian forces veteran.

Is there anything I can do to block his rants?

Post all of the things he sends you in the Lounge.

If he's still an *** enough to keep sending you private messages that obviously WILL be made public, then not only will the rest of us rip on him mercilessly but also the moderators will take notice.

Or, i think there's an option to ignore certain users

The 'ignore' is the sort of thing I'm looking for.

This being the anniversary of last year's tragedy there's some pretty heated stuff going on in the forum; posting his PMs will just throw gasoline on the fire.

I work with tons of great Americans in the film industry. Every country has their individuals who're a bit -er- overpatriotic. One just happened to latch on to me.

Does ignore work in PMs or just regular posts?

Look at the bottom of one of his posts, there should be an "report" button somewhere. Report him to the mods.

They were all PMs. I made the mistake of telling him Mark Leger was a friend of mine (One of 4 Canadian troops bombed by a US pilot, of which he claims to be one)

He's PMing me **** about how enlisted men are just there to follow orders and if officers like him chose to kill them it's because officers know better than the ranks do.

I'd show a direct quote, but I added him to the ignore list and now it won't show in my PM box, thank god.

I travel to the US frequently. This dickless wonder isn't worth my time. I'm just trying to be able to come to a car forum without having some pisant middle-aged wannabe who's mad at the world because he's not Tom Cruise in Top Gun trying to soothe his tiny little ego by taking potshots at a person over the internet, mock me by declaring my friend was a gopher who deserved to die.

I was in Canada at an Air Base for a NATO exercise and Canadians are AWESOME! I've been all around the world and nobody is as genuinely friendly and hospitable as our northern neighbors. (Y'all got some funny money, but you definately know how to have a good time)

Likewise - in my current job, about 80% of the people I work with are American - of all colours and religions. My only complaint is having to go from colour-coded currency to greenbacks (I'm one of those guys that spends the first week back in the States carefully looking @ each bill I spend to make sure it's the right denomination)

Manntis - one of the many reasons why I stayed away from that thread. The first day it was posted up, I thought to my head, just like the religious threads... it's gonna get all heated up, and THEY are gonna blame us, or anyone else what happened. It's sad I'm sorry that certain person is being immature as he is, and doing that.

Thanks, C - I prefer threads like this one where it turns to affirmation of mutual respect.

Of course, threads offering real maintainance and performance enhancements, with zero flamage, are simply the best

Go to the the top left corner of any page in RX7Club a and click on the User Control Panel. The sixth tab over it says Edit Ignore List. Click on it, type his name in and click Update List. I think this should do it. Ive never been unfortunate enough in my short time here to need it.

Nevermind, I didnt see that you took care of this, but Ill leave the instructions there incase anyone else attracts an ***.

Manntis,

First off, my condolences to you for your loss of a friend.....

I don't suppose he was brite enough to give you his full name and branch of service?

I realize that you would just like to block him out and go on, but if he is an officer, his actions should be reported to his comander. This behavior probably boarders on "conduct unbecoming of an officer" and should not be allowed to continue. You are probably not the only one he has lashed out against, but he is obviously not been repromanded.

Yeah, theres an option in the user CP or profile, I forget but it disable ALL pm's, not just one from a certain looser/

there is a way to not accept pms from EVERYONE. I believe when you go into CP and under edit Options - it'll ask you if you want to accept any pms - you click no, thus not letting you accept any pms.

There's one other way to not accept from certain users, and this way also doesn't allow you to see them when they post. That's the ignore button. It's under your "ignore list" in CP.

Hope this helps.
