Better Brakes on my First Gen

I have a little turbo 2 swap project im about to start. Got alot of stuff i need a dyno to tune on and a nice autronic standalone. I am going to need to get rid of these four lug wheels. I thought i would drop all you fellas a line before i buy anything and see what you all have done for this. I was either thinking get all the brake stuff from the GSL - SE or convert second gen spindles. What do you fellas think. Would love you hear your opinions.

Thanks everyone,
Jordan

^^^^ What he said.

Respeed really has the best setup you could get for a 1st gen. They make a kit to adapt the TII hubs to the 1st gen spindles so its not a hard installation. It even includes a caliper bracket to mount TII 4 piston calipers and with the large rotors of the TII, you'll have all the braking power you would need, along with a much more friendly bolt pattern.

the respeed kit is great. but i did find 1 flaw. just as a heads up, the rotor does not clear the control arm too well. when i turn my wheel to near lock, the bottom of the control arm eats away on the rotor leaving a hearty groove. maybe its an alignment issue but its a minor problem for me. i just dont turn the wheel too hard.

Any 2nd gen 4 piston caliper is the same as a TII caliper. If you can lock the front tires now your adequate braking, unless you are tracking the car. Bigger brakes will perform better with bigger/better tires, that's the point.
