better anything than 84

Question better anything than 84

is there anything better on an 82 g than an 84 gs besides the oil cooler. possibly better oil pump gear or something interchangable with an 84, i read about someones ride than had a oil pick up from another year 7 on his maybe it is for an fc not sure but what is an improvment from gen to gen thats interchangable.

only thing i know of is the flywheel is the lightest on an 82. will it keep ballance in an 84 motor? i don't know that.

I think an SE oil pump is better.... high volume on the 12a I think....

for the flywheel gotta change the counter wieghts and everything..... might as well go lightweight and balance it correctly so you dont destroy everything....

You only want a 81-82 flywheel if you have a 79-80 motor.

79-82 share the same rotors. Technically, for some reason the front weight on the (manual) 81-82 is a little off from the 79-80, so to be "perfect", you need to get the front weight to match the flywheel.
I gave a friend an '82 flywheel for his 79, and it worked ok - no noticeable vibration. Just better acceleration.
On the other hand, when I put a light flywheel on my '82 (with the auto rear counterweight), I picked up a vibration (because my manual 82 engine's front weight doesn't match the 82 auto rear weight).
I finally put the '82 motor in an '85 car , with the 85 flywheel (sort of a no no) and it didn't vibrate. Didn't accelerate either because the 85 flywheel is about as bad as the 79.
