What do you all think is the best overall muffler value for the 1st gens, in particular '82? Take mostly into account Sound, price, then durability. Obviously Racing Beat and Mazdatrix have the PowerPulse ($280 or so) rx7.com have their RP performance muffler ($289), Pacesettor (in Victoria British) has thiers for much cheeper than these other 2, And I don't know about any other bolt-in mufflers for these cars. Opinions?

I know that I am going to take heaps of abuse for this but........... I have a Pacesetter muffler on my 80. I have had it for over a year now with no problems. It is a little loud, but not enough to gather attention from the PD. I hear they don't last, but hey the price is right.
I would also say, don't buy their headers, they are crap and don't fit right. But the mufflers? They work for me.

RB all the way

 

At low rpm's it is a low rumble, at high rpm's it starts to get that chainsaw from hell type sound. I like it though. If I have to buy another muffler I will probably go for the RB and spend the big bucks. I hear it is very quiet. But for now I am fine with this.
