well besides going on a diet (not sure how much you weigh) you can remove all the emissions (air pump has some weight), if you dont want a/c then that helps ( i think like 25lbs give or take). heres what i did. i took everything out then removed all the tar sound deadening crap. that stuff adds up; then i put the carpet back in and it looks like i didnt do anything! WOO WOOOOO! i have removed everything i just told you and also my spare tire (cause it was flat), and the bins behind the seats and my car came out to a little under 2200lbs. woooooweeeeeee! so if i can do a fiberglass dash (that is nice) and a few other pieces i might be down to 2100! yesssss. i'm also a lightweight person so it helps. but yea, do that. hahaha

go on a diet...........

umm.... well you could switch to crank windows if you have power... remove the rear wiper if you have one. remove the spare tire and jacks, get an electric fan, ditch the power steering, get a firberglass hood. lexan windows, fuel cell.

The driver? Date skinny girls?

Sorry couldnt resist. Seriously, you cant have it both ways. FBII's suggestion is the most bang for your $, along with removing the heavy under carpet rubberized mats under the storage boxes and under the rear deck carpet.. Its like 40lbs, but getting it all out is ALOT of work.

What? No one has mentioned not completely filling the tank?! Well, I'll say it now: fill only a quarter of your tank or however much you need. Makes a big damn difference on my butt dyno. I wonder exactly how much gas weighs per gallon...

Yes, a small fuel load does feel great on the butt dyno. Although it's not really a good idea for the pumps to run it hard on less than a quater tank. Tank should always be above 1/4, but it's hard to keep it there, I know.

Remove your headlamps and tape a torch to your dash for when it gets dark.

replace all your glass with cling-film

replace your bonnet with a bit of vinyl

throw away the brakes (they must weigh a fair bit)

remove your engine and install pedals

get out and push

Well you said you wanted it to be light - you didn't say it had to be sensible

Will it actually have to run harder? I know that the extra pressure from more gas will help push fuel in, but does that mean that it works less hard? If it pumps at a constant rate, then not filling up shouldn't hurt anything, right?

I don't know that much about fuel pumps

Just incase you wanted to know....
gas weighs in at approx 7.6 lbs per gallon (just ask any pilot) So if you put 15 gallons of gas in your car that's
114lbs you've added

Jet A (kerosene) is 6.7 not 7.6. Gasoline is a little less.

Uncle Sam uses JP-8... I dunno what the weight of that is... I know they add a green dye to it also, in case someone wants to "steal" their fuel.
