best trim?

hey guys i was wondering what is the fastest and best trim for the 1st gen cause ive heard the 12a was faster or could be made faster than the gsl-se 13b

If by best you mean top of the line, then that is of course the GSL-SE. You get the upgrade suspension, the 13b, disc brakes, lsd, and the more accepted bolt pattern (did I leave anything off?).

However you also get the extra weight associated with all the options the GSL-SE usually comes equipped with.

As far as the 12A vs. the 13B? Thats a whole nother topic. The -SE starts out with a 30 hp (I think) advantage, but a 12A can certainly be modified to make more power than a stock 13B car. There has a been a lot of debate on this with most saying the 13B will always be faster if both engines are modified equally, so if making a lot of power if your biggest conern, you're probably better off getting a GSL-SE. The 12A still has a lot potential though.

I've got a base S because I don't care for all the extra weight. no PS, no A/C, etc.
