yeah, the two little black boxes on the side of the dizzy. But no, you can't test them unless you have some very precise piece of measuring equipment that the haynes manual mentions but won't elaborate on. I would say "testing" them just goes as far as plugging them in and seeing if they work.
The actual part from the auto parts store if I remember correctly from when I looked at replacing them on my car was something like $315 canadian EACH So a junk yard is your best bet. I picked up about 6 of them for $5, just told the guy they were relays for the windsheild wipers.

OK heres what I did. I used 3 accel GM HEI moduals for a 76 chevy truck and 3 accel superstock coils. I used Jeff's wiring diagram and modified it. A guy on another forum helped with it. It turns out you have to reverse the wires from the pickup to the mod + to - and - to + to compinsate the timing diferance. But when it was all done it runs beautifully. It doesnt stumble at idle not even when cold. No backfireing or skipping and excellent throttle response.

sorry dude, I was thinking of my S-10's HEI modules... they can't be checked without 'special' equipment to view the electronic waveforms... My mistake, but try not to take my head off about it
