Best 2 cycle oil?
What is consider a really good brand of 2 cycle oil? Right now i have "super tech" 2 cycle oil. I did a quick search on google for rotary 2 cycle oil and i found this.
Valvoline It says for use in rotary engines? So would this be best?
i now it doesnt matter a whole lot but i know some brands are recomended over others. So just give your opinion on which 2 cycle oil is best for premixing because i just got a check and need to stock up on some 2 cycle oil and wanted to know whats the best to get!

Lucas semi-synthetic. A lot of bike racers use it but will never tell you they use it, so I figure there's a reason for it.
Some of the racers here in Texas use castor oil, but I don't buy into the hype.

The best thing I can get my hands on right now is Amsoil injector plus or something like that. About $6 a quart, good stuff and smells like a boat! I used valvoline, and I think that stuff is horrible, theres a reason it costs $2 some dollars at autozone..

i started out with AmsOil full synth, and my car ran beautifully. exhaust didn't sting the eyes, and no one complained about the stench, plus it burnt really cleanly. Murray's was out of it when i ran out, so i bought a gallon of Pennzoil Semi-Synth, and i'm not a fan. high rpm shifts i drop a huge smoke bomb, and it makes my eyes burn on the freeway, and i've got numerous complaints on how bad my car smells. i'm looking for something that burns well like the AmsOil but doesn't make my eyes burn. next stop: motorcycle/skidoo/seadoo dealer to see what they have

I've been running OMC 2cycle (outboard marine corporation). I figure if it is good enough for my $20,000 bass boat with its 175hp engine that turns 6200 rpms at full throttle then it is good enough for my 88 vert. It burns cleanly (little to no smoke) and I have had 0 problems with fouled plugs. I have been using it for about two years now with no complaints.

I've been adding 8-10oz of Valvoline 2-cycle to each tank (sometimes MMO) and now I've ordered Idemitsu Premix ($53/case plus $23 shipping). I have 4 rotaries, 2 12As and 2 13Bs.
I think 2-cycle premix is good for rotaries because they are a lot like 2-cycles, what with the thermal isolation of the apex seals, etc.
In the old days we used Castor Bean oil for 2-cycle motos and cars like the SAAB. It's an excellent lube, but has two drawbacks: it foams if you put it in the sump so it's best used as premix, and it doesn't mix well with gas (in fact it might separate out) so it's a labor of love to use it in motos, etc. You gotta use it up soon after you laboriously mix it. Otherwise it would be great for rotaries.
Castor oil is such a good lube that a race car builder (Porsche or Ferrari, can't remember which) built a special dry-sump engine to use it in the sump back in the 50s. They recycled the foaming castor oil back to a screen that would breakup the surface tension and drip out non-foam oil. I don't remember exactly why it didn't catch on, maybe the volume was too high.

I use Maxima Gold Castor 927 motoX premix. The smell is absolutely awesome, burns extremely clean, esther based, and have yet to have a single problem over the past 4+ years using it. Pick it up from most motorcycle shops in the dirt bike section. You can buy a big ole bottle (I tink it's a half gallon) for about $25 out the door. I use 3.5 ounces per 5 gallons and it lasts me over a month on my 13B bridge-port, with driving the car everyday.

What do you guys think of 2 stroke outboard boat premix? Happen to come across a bottle while walking though Walmart. Started reading the label and it sounds like it would work well and might not smoke as bad.

I've been putting Klotz Techniplate in my motorcycle for years. A friend of mine saw and mentioned he's been putting it in his FD forever too. Good stuff.
