Been a year but I'm back
So I haven't posted on here for almost a year, long time. I was considering a 3rd gen a long time ago. Too much money and not really in my budget though I could have strained it, I don't want to. I currently have a 1999 ZX2 which I have modified the suspension on and got it ready for autocross but unfortunately it's my daily driver. So due to the fear of breaking SOMETHING and/or nailing my mileage... overall, I want an autocross car dedicated for autocross, I've LOVED RX7s, driven several RX8s when I worked for a Ford/Mazda dealership and fell in love with the rotary.
So my idea is to find a beat to hell 1st gen, even if things are bad, work on it, get it working, slowly restore it and make it into a dedicated, gutted out autocrosser.
What I'm wanting to know is... How much is FAIR for a beat up (even if the body looks like someone crapped all over it and then ran it off of a cliff but it runs like a champ) 1st gen, or how much it would be for a decent 1st gen with some mechanical issues? Been looking on ebay and found anything from $100 to $500. So pretty much I don't care about the interior it's going to possibly be stripped and the exterior can always be fixed.
