Been a member a while, now it's justified
I've been a member since November, but no RX-7.
Well I changed that yesterday, I picked up a 1st gen off of RX7FAN.
Here it is, my '85 GSL-SE.
Still on the trailer.
It could use a pain job, it's not bad, but there's a couple nice sized ships in it.
It doesn't run, has a bad water seal, but I also picked up a 15k mile block, and I plan to swap it in in the next few weeks or so, then get the car on the road. Oh, and I want to get rid of those wheels too. If anyone wants to trade another set of 14's for them, I'd be all for it. They're wider than stock SE wheels, so they can hold more rubber...

RE-EGI that you got on there.... REBUILD that other motor when your done swapping with the 15k block...

yeah, I plan to, probably do a street port or something, and have it waiting if I need it, or just swap them back again, and sell the j-spec....All in due time though.
And yes, the rims need to go, they ruin the look of the car to me.

I only have the set of 13's from my '84, so I don't think you'd be interested in a swap at all. But you said that those rims are wider? I might be able to tolorate them if painted black for the right price, to take them off your hands.

Ray, are yours from an SE? How much, and would you want to trade? These are good wheels for putting some slicks on, that's all I'd use them for, unless you like how they look...

They are for the SE, I got them along with rear axles, front and rear rotors and front calipers because I was thinking of converting my 84 GSL to 14 inch wheels, then decided I'd rather keep the original set up. So I'm not interested in a trade, unless you have good 13 inch stock wheels. They are stored in my attic, I would like to see them used. I paid around $250 for the wheels, axles, rotors, calipers, etc. I live in Jefferson GA, about an hour northwest of Atlanta. By the way, nice looking car, you are going to love it!

Intake mani. I think I'm goig to the RE-EGI letters in silver too. Any suggestions?
I'm still waiting on intake gaskets from Mazdatrix. I'm still shooting to have this in by the week-end though.

Yeah, I plan to, just got to figure out a way to go about it. I don't want to sit there with a paint brush. I think I'm going to take an dropper of some sort, and actually fill each letter in that way, so it's a uniform coating, with no brush strokes. I'll never be able to mask them off enough to spray them.

Well, the aluminum underneath wasnt exactly very shiny and clean looking. Even after brushing it and degreasing it, it wasn't all that great, that's why I painted over it.
