Bearing on crank shaft??

Bearing on crank shaft??

I am doing an engine swap in my 82 rx7. The car is a manual but it looks like the replacement engine came from an automatic. I got the clutch and flywheel off and was about to put it on the new engine but i noticed that the manual engine has a needle roller bearing inside the crank shaft that the automatic does not have. I was wondering if there are any other differences between the two engines and where would i be able to find a bearing like that? Thanx for the help

That bearing is called the pilot bearing. It is part of really any manual transmission car. You can get them from autoparts stores, dealer, MazdaTrix, Victoria British, etc. There is the bearing itself and there is a pilot bearing seal that you need to get with it. The only other main difference between the two is the clutch/flywheel vs. the torque converter/flexplate. What year is the engine from? There are some differences between the years. Want to make sure that the flywheel will work with the engine.
