Bad Brake Booster. Options?
The brake booster in my 79 rx7 won't hold a vacuum at all, causing a huge vacuum leak and terrible brakes.
I did some looking around on the forum and a lot of people have just had them remanufactured. After looking around at a few sites like Rock Auto, nobody seems to offer this service anymore for these boosters.
I know the rx8 booster is the same bolt pattern as well as the Miata booster, but brand new, or even remanned, both of these boosters run close to $150 or above.
The Mazda 323 booster looks the same and Rock Auto only wants 60 bucks for one remanufactured. Can anyone confirm if these boosters are interchangeable?

ancient wizard...
Call this company :
Power Brake Exchange
260 Phelan Ave San Diego Ca.

I have had several brake boosters rebuilt by them, last one a month ago. 1ton dual diaphragm booster for Dodge truck i’m restoring. I sent them my booster and had it back in 10 days. Cost $125 for rebuild and shipping back.
They’ve done several FB boosters for me.
Give them a call,I believe it would be cheaper and easier to get your booster rebuilt than try to retrofit something else into your car.

Awesome, I'll call them tomorrow. After doing more research into it, I am definitely leaning towards having mine rebuilt. I sent some emails to Cardone and Prior because I know they've rebuilt SA and FB boosters before for Rock Auto. I think I read on Cardone's site that they don't accept payment directly, it has to go through something like Rock Auto.
I was looking at the 323 booster and it's almost an inch bigger in diameter, so it wouldn't fit easily in my SA anyway.
