Awards

We should issue awards to various people on the forum for accomplishments involving Rx-7's
here are some examples.

Fastest (highest top speed)
Strongest (best acceleration)
Most detailed
Most riced out
finally
The Darwin Award (commiting a single act most likely to get one's self killed or maimed. such as having the car fall on them while working on them, nos fires, cutting down trees with car....)

just an idea...

Eak.... don't you have to actually DIE to get a Darwin Award.... I agree w/ your description but don't want to think about a fellow reX owner dead. Especially if it was their car that assisted in the death... *shrug*

Are we really out to compeat tho? *shrug* I'm not... I just like to do what "I" like... not a bad idea tho... I just wish there were eaiser ways to get reX owners together. Or if there were just more around me or a bigger club... *sigh*... ok.. back to work (er I mean surf)

i nominate an old buddy of mine for the darwin.... we were driving at a derelict airport, rounding the runways. i'm cruising at the edge of the tire's grip... about 87 mph and slight tire squeal. jason thought his car cornered just a tad better (we both had '79's) i look over about 20 yards to my right, he's doing 110mph.... and.... he's... turning... a... little... too.... much....ZING! next thing i know, he's 180, 360, 540!! and still over 100mph! by the time he stopped, i came up and ran over. he opens the door, pale as a ghost, and falls out like a sack of potatoes.... but all's well that ends well, nobody got hurt, and now he knows how his car handles in a high speed turn

I have a NOS pop for ya.

Kinda goes like this, I have a 83 Rx-7 that has a bad 12a in it but still ran above idle good and my friend has a 125HP NOS plate for his camaro that he hasn't hooked up yet...... hmm can you guess what gunna happen?? hehe. Well after simply laying the nos plate in the air cleaner and running the gas hose and solionid wires into the car so I could reach them we went out for a little "test drive". Friend following me with his 97 GTP I put her in 2nd gear and when I got it to ~ 3k I matted the throttle and hit the switch BING, instant HP, tires spin a little and I pull away from my friend. Hit 7k let off, forget to let off the nos switch and BANG, hood flies up ~1.5 feet fire ball shoots over the windshield and hood slams back shut. Both me and my friend that was riding with me were in total shock, then we realised what just happened and started to laugh histarically. Get back to my house, notice that it doesn't idle anymore think think that I lost a apex seal for sure. My other friend pulls up that was following me with the GTP and he almost had tears comming out of his eys he was laughing to hard, " man as soon as I saw the flame shoot over your car I knew what happened....and WTF was that hose that shot straight up when the flame came out?" We pop the hood to see that the air pump hose flew off LOL. The damn thing must have poped off from all the pressure. Then we close the hood to see a half moon shape creased into it when the pop made the air cleaner lid pop off and slam into it. At first kinda pissed me off but then I figured it had a good story behind it.

Well thats my storry hehe

Just went out to the garage and took a pic of the crease, kinda hard to see it. You can sorta see the distortion in the ladder in the reflection
