the "zone" by me is a 24 hour so i do go there from time to time if i need something and its the only thing open. I do 90% of my stuff @ advanced...they know me by name, they setup a account for me mainlly so i dont prepay for **** to get it ordered. the people are even awake unlike the zone.

Man you guys parts stores are total backwards from ours then. That or we get better stuff. WV FTW oh yeah. But anyways.
I tend to frequent NAPA because they usually have all the parts I need in stock and the quality is really good. I have never got a broken part or something that dosnt fit right. I have a line of credit here I buy so much stuff.
Autozone is a little bit more expensive but the manager there is a retired ASE mechanic, pretty cool old guy and knows his ****. I also have a line of credit there to.
Advance well they are so-so it really depends on which one ou go to. The one in cross lanes has better service, and usually all the parts I need in stock. The one in Dundar on the other hand are complete idiots, and never have anything. But you must also remember that Advance dosnt carry alot of stuff for the 7 so i maily use this store as my main supplier for good old piston parts.
Mazda dealership. Well as far as the parts are concerned they are damn good, abd I usually score alot of N.O.S. parts everytime I go in there, but there Rotary service department can suck my *****. Hopefully if I get the job there I can turn things around.
Carquest, well there is only one around here. Only bought one thing there and it was a fuel pump for my moms car. It didnt work and as for the wrong car. I took it back and just ordered from the dealer.
Ford (in NItro) is also a Mazda small dealership. I know everybody there and sometimes just drive down to hang out. They have all the parts catalogues for the rx-7 but nothing in stock, but its usually not a problem cause they have every part overnighted or someone drive to Lester Raines(the main mazda dealership) and picks it up.
These are my experiences, but i think it is mainly because mining and car repair are pretty much the 2 biggest industries in WV. if you dont count the chemical plants.

Way to dig up a 9 month old thread. As a former Autozone manager for 4 yrs. I can tell you it is all about the people you hire. My store was literally 5 ft. away from an O'Reilly's and we did more business than they did. Go wherever you want, wherever you find good people. Bitching about that one time you had shitty service at one particular store isn't going to make things better. I've seen stupid people at Mazda dealers as well. A former friend of mine had a FD and we went to the dealer to get some parts. A tech came out of the garage and said "That's a cool car. What is it?" That same dealer had a customer call me at Autozone to help fix his FC because they couldn't figure it out. Just get used to stupid people. They're everywhere and you'll never escape them.

i went to an autozone in town and asked for a starter. the redneck at the counter gave me a stupid look and told me there was no such car as an rx-7. the other redneck turned to him and said "yea there is, its a pointy peice of ****," and that i should buy a truck. i live in the south so, yea

It's fun screwing with stupid counter people though

No auto parts store in Augusta, whether it be Autozone or Advanced(which I prefer) has a radiator cap that will fit my car, of course they said they did and gave me a cap for a large neck, when I have the small neck. Mazdatrix even sent me the wrong size. Hit or miss wherever you go.

I went to a local orielly's a few days back, the counter help was crank-calling the autozone down the street (didn't see me in the store). As soon as they saw me, they hung up the phone. I told them if they really screw with their heads, ask for a timing chain or belt for a RX7 or RX8. 3 of the guys looked at me with the "Deer in the headlights" look, and the manager had to explain...........
The name on the store is not as important as the people behind the counter. There are good parts people, and there are stupid people. the ratio is rather unbalanced, unfortuntately.

I went in once with the original owners manualt that had the recomended spark plugs in it. I asked for all of the recomended ones and the guys said they either didn't carry them or they where out of stock. So I asked for what they would have that would work in a 82 mazda rx-7, he went into the back and came back out with a few boxes. As I was being rung up I looked at the label on the box. It was one of the recomended spark plugs that I had asked about. What an idiot
