Automatic to Manual Transmission - Stop Switch

Automatic to Manual Transmission - Stop Switch
I'm right in the middle of changing my 1985 GSL from an automtic to a manual transmission. I took the pedals and other parts from a 1984 S model.
I thought I only needed the clutch switch but when I looked at the brake stop switch and noticed a difference. The microfiche (page 1 -E11 chasis) list one stop switch for S, GS and another for GSL, GSL-SE.
What is the difference? The GSL, GSl-SE one has two connector going to it. The S, GS says "W/O Auto Speed Cont") and the GSL, GSL-SE says "W' Auto Speed Cont). What does this Auto Speed control do and is it a Automatic transmission only thing? I'm sure it won't hurt to keep the one I have. I was just curious.
