it's setupp like a street corse. maybe turn and sharp bends. it's a test of handling rather than speed as opossed to other types of racing. on a good track you are luck to reach 65-70mph.

Redline? What's that? Oh, you mean after it goes past 8K in third gear, that's bad?
Yeah... I have what many autoX veterans call an "aggressive/psychotic driving style"
It's *****-out, the whole run.
Most people were hitting 95-100.
Somehow, I got going too fast, and couldn't slow down in time to turn... so, all I heard was bop-bop-bop-bop-bop-bop from the cones blistering my front fascia.

At the auto-xes around here you are damn lucky to hit 60. This is even the powerfull cars.
I really dont think I would run an auto-x corse thats that fast.
I really think thats missing the point of auto-x.
If you want a course that lets you go 115, than hit the track.
Thats just way to damn fast.

Being able to hit triple digits on an autocross course is determined by the course design and layout...100+ sounds nutty.. my first time out ever I did around 65 max in a stock 7 with bald street tires. Autocrossing is a good way to learn car control...just get out there and have fun.

If you're hitting triple digits at an autocross, then the course is wrong. An autox course shouldn't let you get much faster than the top of second gear. Any faster, and you have more dangerous things to worry about. Runoff room, etc..... Where was this "Triple Digit" autocross held?
