Auto radiator in a manual

I already made apost in the General Tech section, but Id thought Id ask here. I ve been thinking about using a radiator out of an auto FB or SA, and using the tranny cooler as a FMOC. Feedback? Problems? Will the oil pass through the tranny cooler like it has to? Will the rad. out of an SA fit in an 85?

Won't work.

For one thing, the tranny oil cooler is tiny (not enough cooling)

Second, the lines are tiny (not enough flow)

Third, it's not meant to handle much pressure.

To answer your final question, yes it will. In fact I have the radiator from my '80 in my '85 right now. I don't have the air/oil cooler mounted in there yet, so I have some cardboard (one big piece doubled over, with a third slive sandwiched in - my halfassery is done with the utmost in engineering) blocking the gaping hole beneath, to ensure all air coming through the grille does in fact go through the radiator. This is important.

You could always steal it...

I figure if you throw a big *** steak at the junk yard dog, he'll let you in for a bit.

Well, since I cant use the tranny cooler, I dont have to buy the rad. from the boneyard. Now if there were any FCs that I could snag an oil cooler off of, then I might just try and sneak in and appropriate it. If I didnt hate thieves so much.
