atkins apex seals?

I liked 'em, no problems. They didn't wear very much at all in 50-60,000 miles of use. The main wear was where the springs rode on the backside, possibly due to dust.
I'm running the standard ones now because I found a set of installed-but-unused seals for $100 or so on eBay. I haven't had this engine apart yet to see how things are doing in there, maybe this winter.
Make sure to follow Judge Ito's recommendations for seal fitment. They do need to be filed for length as they come slightly overlong. I've never had an issue starting a fresh engine, always lit as soon as I gave them fuel.

Never needed to file down Atkins seals. They start easily. Sounds to me like they don't need filing. I also glue them together at just less than 70mm or 80mm (Depending on 12A or 13B).

Both sets I got were a tiny bit overthick and about .002-.003 overlong.
When I glue them I glue them overlong so the spring tension is slightly less when trying to assemble. But usually the glue doesn't hold anyway, but the extra long corner piece means you don't really need glue.
