Anyone know where to get those little metal clips that hold brake pads?
Ok, my rear passenger wheel has clicked as long as I have owned the car. After thoroughly reviewing what makes it different than the other 3 wheels, I see that it is the only wheel without the anti rattle clips, or "brake shim kit" as Mazda calls it. I went to the Mazda dealership and they want $47 for the rear clips! And $55 for the fronts! That's $102 for 8 tiny metal clips! Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?
Also,my rear driver's wheel started making scrubbing sounds like it did a year or so ago when the pad material had worn down to a metal pad holder grooving the disk. I replaced the disk and pads and even the caliper. I redid the pads maybe 3 months ago and I visually inspected thedisk through the spokes of my mesh wheels and it's not scraping or grooving. I was wondering if anything else makes this scrubbing noise? It's only noticable above parking lot speeds and I'm making a wild guess at a wheel bearing. Any way to confirm this or do I have to start disassembling the rear end to find out?

www.rockauto.com has 'em. They run from $6-$20 per set depending on the brand. You might also check the local autopart stores. Maybe the best option is to write down the part numbers from rockauto and then check the local stores. Sometimes they have a part or can get a part, but might not have it correctly listed for your car (I had this happen for a fuel pump once).
If you do order from rockauto, search on here or google for a discount code. Only takes off like 5%, but better than nothing.

When I was replacing the pads last all 4 calipers seemed sturdy and in place, but I wasn't thinking to wiggle them around. I've been told that the brackets they bolt to can be loosened behind the hub. I should probably check it out and while I'm at it, I'll get to replacing the wheels bearings since it's worrying me as well.I have a cousin who works at Napa so I'll get the clips through him. thanks guys.

Here in canada I ordered mine thru napa, but after a month they told me they couldnt get them, so I went to piston ring and they came in in about 3 weeks from langley (they told me I had one of the last sets in north america lol).
Anyways cost me about 40 canadian for the clips, and I looked on the box, said they were manufactured in 1989, and I was told they were in some warehouse they hardly ever use, which is why it took so long.
Anyways, if I had rear calipers it would have prob only been a little bit cheaper then mazda. Ohh and by the way my clips were made by wagner.
