thats why i said why go cheap on the high/mid range?
even then its still not going to be a nice bassy system,
the 10" inside the vehicle, solo is just going to sound real "boomy" and thats a bad thing in any case,
you want a solid punch,
that 10" will be to over worked trying to fill the inside of the car instead of the inside of the trunk to put out solid bass,
and once again its solo.
but then if you put it in the trunk it wont have enough room for the box to get the proper qtc
the only answer is two 10" that require and extremely small encloser space for max qts
even then you can bridge the chambers in the encloser and use polyfill to fool the woofers into thinking their in a bigger box then they really are.
thats the proper way to do it

I didn't flame Audiobahn...that was the installer elitists in this Forum...I personally installed a couple of DHD amps (shout out all at once...."Who the F@#k is that?!") in a '01 Dodge truck with a mega-custom box with two 12"s in a comp-calculated box,sealed....that was the loudest, tightest install so far...freakin' rattle your retinas and I'm not joking...it's allabout specs and not the damn name...I personally steer clear of Pioneer...don't be sweatin' me, now, Mike...

were they dhd powercruiser's ?
yeah i think the same way you do as well but manufactures lie as well to sell more equip and some lie to win more competitions,
its very confusing but just compair
pyramid rated @ 400x2 max @ 2ohm
lanzar optidrive rated @ 100x2 rms @ 4ohm "which is basically 400x2@2ohm"
going by the specs the amps are at a tie,
the lanzar actually at a disadvantage because it really is not supposed to push 400x2@2
but the lanzar will still push more
how....why??????? you ask
because its lanzar's top amp and its used in competition,
so in a comp who will win ?
the amps are rated the same but the lanzar pushes more,
its very unfair but big manufacturers do it all the time
some companys sell through reputation which is built up from sound comps,
and some sell from the price tag and wattage claims on the amps
p.s. I also hate pioneer
here is my list of fav headunits from the ones i like best down
1- mcintosh
2- alpine
3- clarion
4- sony "would rank higher but anything with a sony laser reads cd's for ****,even in the portables, home units and computer drives"
5- kenwood "yes i would take a kenwood over a pioneer"
pioneer is just all about flash and pretty graphics,
give me a built in dsp,
3-way crossover on every output,
individual speaker level and crossover control
built in 7 band eq
low output front
low output rear
low output sub "not shared with rear like on pioneers"
opti link in
digital in
and aux in
and im happy
