Anyone have a copy of the CP racing flushmount cutting templates?
Hey guys,
a little while ago I got (what I consider) ripped off by a newer member of this forum. Anyways he sold me what the ebay auction described as being a brand new CPracing headlight kit with all instructions, cutting templates etc included.
Long story short I only recieved the headlights in the mail and he isn't responding. So im trying to solve the problem through Paypal...
But by any chance does anyone have a copy or have access to a copy of the cutting templates? I really want to get the damn things mounted, and of course I tried contacting CPracing for a copy of the templates... But we all know how quick they are at responding to customer emails.
Anyways any help is GREATLY appreciated, the headlights are pretty much worthless if I can't get them mounted.
Thanks

If your just trying to get some covers made, try taking the stock FB steel lids down to a plexi shop and have them made.I took my MidTennMiata custom lids down the street to TAP Plastics and they cut them perfectly to match the FB lids.Cost about 20 bucks.
If your making them from scratch,it will be tougher to get the 3D curve right from front to back and side to side. But if you use thin, flexible material you should be able to get it flush.I have no idea how MTM got their lids to have that slight, curved dome shape.TAP said they had no way to duplicate the arc,but I suspect it involves heat and the original steel lids.

I don't have mine anymore, but I do have some pix that might help give you and idea if you can't find any. These were taken when I did mine. Make sure your 100% sure you want this, your car will never be the same......
I should be able to dig up the full size ones if you need.

Max7 thank you so much for those pictures, for interest sake is the piece of white paper in the one picture the cutting template they supplied? With those pictures I should be able to get the cuts made properly!
As far as remaking the covers go, I don't see any 3D shape in mine at all. I put them on a flat desk and they sit right down on the desk. I have bought some lucite and im going to remake the covers within the next little while.
For anyone else considering CP racing headlights, DON'T DO IT! So far i've had to redo everything, very very poor quality...

Huh,Id expect no less considering the quality of the rest of the CP kit.
At least the Mid Tenn Miata kit had the covers curved to match the body, but unfortunately, they are out of buisness and the kits are not made anymore.Their kits werent the quality of some of the $1-2K Japanese flush light kits, but at least it didnt require me to butcher the car like that.......geez thats ugly!
