Any intrest in Poly replacement fuel tanks
I have been looking for a replacement tank for my car. Now I'm held to a strict rules for racing. So for me I would have to have an OME tank or a FIA rated fuel cell that has to be replaced every 7 years.
I also happen to live very close to JAZ products. They make Rotory molded products, such as tanks, seats...ect...
Now it I can get a OME replacement tank approved, it would save me alot of cash. So I talked to the guys at JAZ, and they ar willing to build what ever I need with an SFI rating.
Then stated thinking about how hard of a time I was having, cleaning my tank out so I could use it on the track. I thought there has got to be an interest in possable a group buy.
I do not have any ideas on what it would cost yet. But I was looking at making a bolt in ome replacement rotorymolded poly tank with a sump style pick up.
There would be a few opptions. Like how the filler is mounted, Sending unit and stuff like that.
So if enough people are interested. I will go forth start working on this. A very rough guess, would be $300 to $500 maybe even less depending on how many we can buy at one time. Set up is the bigest cost.
Our cars are getting older and it's not easy finding a new tank if ou need one. Just let me know what you think, and why.
Thanks

Check out ReSpeed. Sam is in the final design process for a replacement tank for
1st gen RX7s. I think its intended to work with both SA and FB as each is slighlty
different in shape due to the spare tire well changes in the 81-85 cars.
